Arrivals and Mapping
As guests arrive, we'll map where Gathering participants are working in Haiti, giving us a picture of the funding landscape drawn by this group of grantmakers.

9:30 to 10:00 am
Speed Networking
In the first of several facilitated networking sessions, we'll make fast first contact with other Haiti Gathering participants. Like speed dating, only without the rejection.

Opening Dialogue
Funder Perspectives on Grantmaking Trends in Haiti
Grantmaking in Haiti offers, in equal parts, challenges—cultural, political, logistical—and opportunities to make change in one of the most interesting and needful places in the Western Hemisphere. Our opening dialogue will feature a conversation with some of the most experienced Haiti grantmakers in the Gw/oB network. They'll share lessons learned from the field and start us thinking about how each of us can make a difference through our grantmaking in Haiti. With Karen Ashmore, Lambi Fund of Haiti; Nikhil Aziz, Grassroots International; and Amarilys Estrella, American Jewish World Service

Selection of Small Group Breakout Topics
Using a process called "Open Space", participants will democratically select the topics they'd like to cover during two breakout periods.

1:15 to 2:00 pm
Afternoon Dialogue
Women's Rights in Haiti
What is the status of women in Haiti? How has chronic poverty and the social and economic dislocations it brings about affected women? What has been the impact on women of the recent devastating earthquake? And how can we as grantmakers make sure that every grant we make in Haiti promotes gender equality? Our afternoon dialogue will explore these and other important questions. With Leonie Hermantin, Lambi Fund of Haiti; and Bev Bell, Other Worlds

3:15 to 4:15 pm
The Reciprocity Web
In this facilitated networking exercise, each HGG Gathering participant will be able to tap into the broad and deep expertise of others to find immediate, tangible solutions to a challenge they currently face. The Reciprocity Web is a powerful networking tool that vividly illustrates the enormous value of active and engaged networking.

4:15 to 5:00 pm
Report-back, Next Steps and Closure
HGG Gathering participants will share what they've learned during the course of the day and explore ways to stay connected—and supportive of one another—in the year ahead.
